First Sundays at the Sandia Mountain Natural History Center

Our beautiful 128-acre piece of pinon-juniper forest is owned by the Albuquerque Public School System, and is run by the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. Open House - Public Lecture - Solar Telescope

The Sandia Mountain Natural History Center will be open to the public the first Sunday of every month. The Center offers over 5 miles of hiking trails, 2 self guided trails, a bird blind, geocaching, and numerous picnic areas.

At 10:00 Justin Spielmann will give a presentation on Revised Vertebrate Fauna of the Late Triassic Redonda Formation.

From 11:00 to 2:00 visitors will be able to view the sun through a special Solar Telescope.

Gates are open 9:00-4:00
