Destination Dinner: Life on the Farm

Sunday, July 17, 2011

Journey back in time to the Land of Enchantment at turn of the century. Dinner on the farmstead was made from homegrown veggies and hand-raised or hunted meat, such as sheep and rabbit.

  • Though you might expect moonshine, we'll start with some local wines and beers at the Heritage Farm. Sip on these treats as you tour the working homestead.
  • Using produce grown at the Heritage Farm, we'll feature local recipes from the early 1900s. The Heritage Farm is well known for its amazing apples, so many dishes will include the apples as part of the flavor profile.
  • In this part of the country we have the Native American side by side with the Spanish influence that makes this areas food so very unique.
