Aux Dog Theatre Presents: Treasure Island

16 Performances, May 6th-29th

The possibilities of youth and the chance inherent in setting off to sea on a pirate adventure challenge us to consider our own quests.
This adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic blends unique elements of performance art together in an exciting adventure, fun for the whole family. Using a “toy theatre” design, the singing, the sword-fighting, and the general pirate-grunting will have audiences jumping out of their seats.

When a young Jim Hawkins discovers a treasure map, he persuades the town doctor and squire to commission a ship to seek their fortune. But once at sea, he realizes the hired crewmen are really blood-thirsty pirates who want to keep the treasure for themselves. The crew’s leader, posing as a simple cook, is the legendary Long John Silver. The one- legged pirate befriends young Hawkins in an effort to seize the map and control of the ship.
