Bat Boy: The Musical explores the masks that we all wear, and our struggle to find faith and acceptance in dark places. This cult favorite reminds us of the bizarre in all our lives, and our chances of successfully finding homes in spite of it.
Outside the small community of Hope Falls, West Virginia, three spelunkers find a deformed humanoid they dub the “Bat Boy.” Taken in by the town’s veterinarian, Bat Boy is accepted by the family and taught to act “normal”. Bat Boy is happy with his new life, but when he tries to fit in with the narrow-minded people of Hope Falls, they turn on him. Soon the whole town arrives and learns the shocking secret of Bat Boy’s unholy origin.
